How to Participate
Are you a classroom teacher interested in learning more about how you can grow your knowledge and skills to lead within your profession? Or are you an emerging teacher leader who desires recognition and support for what you already do beyond the classroom? TLI may be right for you!
The Teacher Leadership Initiative (TLI) is a new leadership development program for teachers passionate about elevating their profession and improving outcomes for students. TLI is a joint partnership of the National Education Association (NEA), the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (the National Board) and the Center for Teaching Quality (CTQ).
Rooted in the collective expertise of these partners, the TLI is built around three primary pathways for leadership: Instructional Leadership, Policy Leadership, and Association Leadership. Uniting these three pathways are the Teacher Leadership Competencies – what teacher leaders must know and be able to do – created specifically for this initiative.
